Ever since the existence of plumbing the plumbers have become the middle class men. They are not very successful, but they are not really failures since they have work to do.
Before the international financial crisis in 2008 many plumbers were contracted by large building companies, on building sites in order to put in place all the plumbing and draining systems.
Something dreadful happened when along came the financial crisis that blocked all the investments and left many people jobless. Even the Dublin plumber would have to face this, and nobody was happy about it. Many plumbers had to let go some of their own team, in order to survive the two year nightmare, while others continued working with the hope of future payment.
Contractors were obviously incapable of paying since they were not getting any money either, so they become indebted to all the people on the construction site. Reportedly, a plumber was expecting a lot of money from a contractor, and when he realized he was not going to get them any time soon he had a heart attack and almost died.
The sore days of a Dublin plumber don’t stop here. Soon, the little hope he had left he put it in the householders. They were the ones they didn’t afford to buy new anything, so they just repaired anything, giving plumbers a little hope, since they were called in to fix certain things around the house.
